Freelance Mandarin-English Over-the-Phone InterpreterProject SummaryLionbridge is seeking self-starting freelance Over-the-Phone Interpreters for ongoing interpretation projects across industries such as Legal, Healthcare and Government. Over-the-Phone Interpreters for Lionbridge are responsible for handling calls on demand to correctly identify and provide meaning in conversations between speakers of two different languages. What You Will DoAccept and take ownership of on-demand incoming calls and conversationsIdentify the meaning of conversations across two different language types while remaining current, courteous, and professional on sensitive subjects across differing cultures and locationsReceive projects typically presented in the from of three-way calls, lasting roughly 10-30 minutes each during regular US business hoursReceive training on and use appropriate industry terminology, displaying common industry procedures and practices
To Be Successful You Will Have Advanced abilities in Mandarin and English (spoken)Exceptional memory retention, note-taking, and communication skills in the appropriate language(s)The ability to complete and pass a language assessment in the languages you will be assigned toPrior experience in Interpretation or Language Services is a plus, but not required
